What kind of PDFs can this unlock?
It can remove both open-password protection (requires a password to view) and owner-password restrictions (copy/print disabled). For open-password PDFs you must supply the correct password.
Do I need to enter a password?
Only if the PDF requires one to open. Many protected PDFs only restrict copying/printing and can be unlocked without a password — just leave the field blank.
Is my file uploaded to a server?
No. Everything happens locally in your browser. Your file never leaves your device.
Will the unlocked PDF look the same?
The pages are rendered at 2× resolution and re-embedded as high-quality images, so it will look identical. The resulting file is image-based (not text-searchable).
