PDF to PowerPoint turns each page of a PDF into a slide in a .pptx file you can open in PowerPoint, Google Slides or Keynote. In Editable text mode the page's text comes out as real PowerPoint text boxes, placed where it sat on the page, over a picture of everything else on the page, so backgrounds, photos and shapes stay while the words can be changed. Exact look puts each page in as a picture instead: identical to the PDF, ready to present, but not editable. The deck takes the size of your PDF's first page, so a landscape handout stays landscape.
What you can do
- One slide per PDF page, at the PDF's own page size.
- Editable text: real text boxes in place, over the page's graphics.
- Exact look: each page as a picture, identical to the PDF.
- Text colour and font are carried over where PowerPoint has the font.
How it works
- 1Drop your PDF onto the page.
- 2Choose Editable text or Exact look.
- 3Click Process File.
- 4Click Download and open the .pptx in PowerPoint, Google Slides or Keynote.

This tool runs inside your browser tab. Your file is read from your device, processed there, and handed back as a download — it is never sent to a SmilingPDF server, so there is nothing for us to store, read, or lose. You can check for yourself: open your browser's developer tools, switch to the Network tab and run the tool. Like most sites, SmilingPDF uses Google Analytics to count visits and which tools are used; that never includes the contents of your files. The privacy policy lists everything the site does collect.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Got questions? We've got answers.
How do I convert a PDF to PowerPoint?
Drop your PDF onto the page, choose Editable text or Exact look, click Process File and download the .pptx. Every PDF page becomes one slide.
Can I edit the text in the slides?
Yes, in Editable text mode. The text becomes real PowerPoint text boxes placed where it was on the page, over a picture of the page's graphics. Exact look puts each page in as a picture, so the text there can't be edited.
Will it look exactly like my PDF?
Exact look is identical, because each page is a picture. Editable text is close: PowerPoint uses the same font when it's installed on your computer, and a similar one when it isn't, so line lengths can differ slightly.
Does it work with scanned PDFs?
A scan has no text to extract, so use Exact look, or run OCR first to make the scan's text available.
Does it open in Google Slides and Keynote?
Yes. The .pptx opens in PowerPoint, Google Slides, Keynote and LibreOffice Impress.
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. The pages are rendered and the presentation is built in your browser.
