Crop PDF trims the margins off every page, with a live preview so you can see what stays. It shrinks each page's visible area (its CropBox) by the margins you set — the trimmed content is outside the visible area rather than deleted, so text stays selectable and vector content stays sharp. The same percentage margins apply to every page, each worked out from that page's own size.
What you can do
- Live preview with a draggable crop box, plus Top, Bottom, Left and Right percentage fields.
- Non-destructive: only the visible area changes, so text stays selectable and sharp.
- Mixed page sizes crop proportionally, not just the page shown in the preview.
- One set of margins is applied to the whole document.
How it works
- 1Drop your PDF onto the page.
- 2Drag the crop box on the preview, or type the Top, Bottom, Left and Right margins.
- 3Check the preview to see what will remain.
- 4Click Process File, then Download.

This tool runs inside your browser tab. Your file is read from your device, processed there, and handed back as a download — it is never sent to a SmilingPDF server, so there is nothing for us to store, read, or lose. You can check for yourself: open your browser's developer tools, switch to the Network tab and run the tool. Like most sites, SmilingPDF uses Google Analytics to count visits and which tools are used; that never includes the contents of your files. The privacy policy lists everything the site does collect.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Got questions? We've got answers.
How does cropping work?
Each page's visible boundary (its CropBox) is shrunk by the margins you set. The trimmed content isn't deleted — it's outside the new visible area, the same non-destructive mechanism every PDF viewer already respects — so text stays selectable and vector content stays sharp.
Is the same crop applied to every page?
Yes — the same percentage margins are used for every page, but each page's own real size is used to compute them, so a document with mixed page sizes still crops proportionally correctly throughout, not just on the page shown in the preview.
Can I crop different pages differently?
Not in this tool — one set of margins applies to the whole document. For page-by-page control, edit the PDF's page boxes directly in a dedicated PDF editor.
Can I drag the crop box directly on the preview?
Yes — drag inside the box to move it, or drag a corner handle to resize it. The four percentage fields below update live as you drag, and either one works: type exact numbers, or just drag.
Will this shrink my file size?
Not meaningfully — the underlying content is unchanged, only the visible boundary. Use Compress PDF if a smaller file is the goal.
Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything runs in your browser and the file never leaves your device.
